Active Ingredient: Bortezomib

Description: Bortezomib Accord is a “generic medicine” containing the same active substance as the reference medicine, Velcade. It is an antineoplastic (cancer) medicine in a class called proteasome inhibitors. The product is a clear, colorless solution for injection, provided in glass vials.

Indication It is used to treat adults with two types of blood cancer:

• Multiple Myeloma: Used alone or in combination with other drugs (like dexamethasone or melphalan) for patients whose disease is worsening after prior treatment, or for previously untreated patients who may or may not be eligible for blood stem-cell transplantation.
• Mantle Cell Lymphoma: Used in combination with rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, and prednisone for previously untreated adults who cannot have blood stem-cell transplantation.

Strength 2.5 mg/mL (available in 1 mL vials containing 2.5 mg or 1.4 mL vials containing 3.5 mg of bortezomib).
